Sweet Somethings

Sweet Snowflake was plumb tuckered out last night. Not only did he sleep in the bottom of a TJ Maxx shopping cart, he failed to rouse for some delish marinara and garlicky breadsticks just for him from Rocky Roccoco when we got home.

He was sleeping with the fishes. I felt him stir around 3am and he half woke up and let out a sweet sigh. I played dead. He flopped up on his pillow and quietly whispered,

"I love you mamma."

That's the sweetest thing ever....kids are amazing.

I used to sing to Maya, a couple of old Simon and Garfunkel songs. She used to sing with me. Then she got tired of it. (I have a truly terrible singing voice, so I don't really blame her). Last night, she was having trouble sleeping, since she slept in until 10 or so that morning, so I sang to her again. She held me close. She said, "I'm not tired of you singing to me anymore, Mama. I like it." What a sweetheart.

Mine doesn't talk, she just grunts and rolls her eyes at you, me, whomever.... as if she's just heard you fart and laugh about it. I'm raising a snob.
