Thistle Me

thistle

Thistle sounds like it should be something really dirty. Like some wild taboo sex act. OMG! He used to just thistle himself but it's gotten so out of hand. She caught him thistling with the neighbor! I saw him at 2:30 in the morning thistling a stocker in the parking lot of the 24 hour grocery store. In fact he was thistled so hard he could barely walk the next day...

Thistle.

I am writing that one down in my book of words. It does sound sexy, kind of like the word sprig, which in fact has a slang meaning that involves "dirty and bouncy acts."

What, you thought I named my blog sprigs for some other reason?

Good to know as I love insider information! :) Seriously though, I have been thinking about words more since I've been reading your blog. Sprigs is such a good, good word. It has such visual power in so many ways. It is satisfying to say as well S-P-R-I-G, so small but so mighty. A meaty word.

This thistle reminded me of green swans in a vintage French Ad poster for maybe, absinthe. Yes, that would work.

I used to live on Sprunt Dr. That word just drove me crazy. I remember Burt Reynolds used that word (Sprunt) in one of his movies. He said it was the perfect marketing word for a feminine hygiene spray or something to that effect.
